On 1 April the 75th SICTIC Investor Day will take place – online. The selected start-ups have been announced today. In addition, SICTIC published a list with resources and a questionnaire to support start-ups in the current Corona crises.

Eight start-ups have been selected to pitch to investors at the upcoming SICTIC Investor Day. The event was originally planned to take place in Winterthur and will now be held online. Like always eight start-ups will give short presentations of 90 seconds. The audience will select four of them for long pitches - each start-up will provide an eight-minute pre-recorded pitch that will be played during the event, followed by a seven-minute live Q&A session. Investors can submit questions in writing via the chat feature and a selection will be addressed by the online event moderator to the start-up founders.

The eight selected start-ups are:

Apilio: Virtual controller for smarter home automation that connects with almost all smart devices

Blocksport: Out of the box social platform for sport clubs

Fidectus: Solving the problem of electronic settlement matching for the European OTC energy trading industry enabling new tools for cash-flow management, prediction and credit risk reduction.

kaiosID: A non-invasive traceability solution to fight counterfeiting and grey market

KOH by BG Research SA: Stealth mode start-up working on a “spherical computer for the mass market”

SedimentumContactless solution for real-time anomaly and emergency detection in healthcare

Sparrow by Zennous SA:  Measuring urban environment for smart healthcare

Vay Sports: Providing a reliable and precise monocular human pose estimation technology as a service and building customized applications on top.

The Networking Apéro will be replaced by internal communication via SICTIC’s Beekeeper platform:

  • An event group chat will be created for the SICTIC Investors that attended the live event, for follow-up discussions and matchmaking.
  • An investor-only group chat will be created for each startup that presented, where those interested to discuss further per individual project can connect.

SICTIC will send the registered attendees specific information about how to join the online event. If you want to attend, you can register on the event webpage www.sictic.ch/75.

In addition, SICTIC has published two free resources for Swiss tech startups:

  • Swiss Startup Coronavirus Survival Cheat Sheet:
The Swiss ICT Investor Club (SICTIC) collected and received in the recent few days many inputs about tools and resources available for Swiss startups, and centralized them in a public spreadsheet which you can access at
    www.sictic.ch/survival.
  • Questionnaire to assess the risks by the crisis in your startup:
This survival sheet includes a "
Risk assessment of a startup in a crisis" written by SICTIC Investor Peter Kessel.

Swiss tech startups that need to do a bridge round due to funding shortage or delay with VCs to apply anytime to pitch. Startups are welcome to apply on the SICTIC deal platform at www.sictic.ch/pitch.
