MiniNaviDent AG, a spin-out of the University Hospital Basel USB and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, developing an extremely miniaturized, handheld navigation system for the precise and safe implantation of dental implants, has announced the successful closing of CHF 1.4 Mio. Series-B Financing.

The financing is expected to increase further in the gobble-up phase, running through the next weeks.

The round was led by new strategic partner W&H Dentalwerk Bürmoos GmbH, a world leading manufacturer of dental hand-pieces, turbines and surgical motors for dentistry and included other new investors with a dental background. Aargauische Kantonalbank also participated in the financing as well as existing investors like Nobel Biocare and several private investors.

The funds will allow MiniNaviDent to further develop, produce and test its navigation system in humans, obtaining the CE Mark and preparing the system for industrialization and serial production.

MiniNaviDent’s DENACAM system will finally allow the implanting surgeon or dentist to fully exploit the advantages of 3D implant planning with full digital patency in real-time and 3D from start to end in a dental implant case.

Frank Berlinghoff, CEO and Co-Founder commented: “We are very happy with the support of our existing investors and the strong interest of new investors. We are glad that we could gain in addition to Nobel Biocare also W&H as  a new investor and partner for industrializing and marketing our product in the future. We feel this is a strong validation of our company, its business plan and the progress made.”
