This year's People Award Winners oft he Swiss ICT Awards 2011 are: Laurent Haug, Founder LIFT Lab & LIFT Conference and ETH-Professor Markus Gross, Direktor Disney Research Zürich.

The winner of the Swiss ICT Awards 2011 were newly announced in the KKL Lucerne during the gala where more than 400 participants were welcomed. This year's People Award Winners are: Prof. Dr. Markus Gross and Laurent Haug.
 
Laurent Haug is an entrepreneur and researcher who is passionate about understanding how technological innovation is reshaping society and culture. His job is to identify and understand upcoming shifts, spread the word, and help transform changes from threats to opportunities. He is the founder and CEO of the Lift Conference, the co-founder and CEO of Lift Lab (a boutique consulting practice doing research projects), also a blogger, start-up adviser.
 
The Lift conferences - Lift12, Geneva, 22-24 Feb 2012 - are a series of events built around a community of pioneers who get together in Europe and Asia to explore the social implications of new technologies. Each event is a chance to turn innovation into opportunities by anticipating the major shifts ahead, and meet the people who drive them. Lift started in 2006 with 350 participants and is now an international series of events.
 
Markus Gross is a Professor of Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH), head of the Computer Graphics Laboratory, and the Director of Disney Research, Zürich. For more than 20 years, Dr. Gross has been pursuing basic and applied research in computer graphics, image generation and display, geometric modeling, and computer animation.
