KAPSLY awards three digital health startups

KAPSLY provides young entrepreneurs with access to service providers – such as agencies, business advisors, and healthcare experts – to attain professional assistance in IT, marketing, regulatory, clinical or legal without cash expenses. Instead, service providers obtain the opportunity to invest time and expertise and receive fair compensation in the form of profit sharing. This alternative financing method allows the founders to focus on their core business tasks.

Through the KAPSLY Digital Health Startup Award, the KAPSLY team scouts for the most promising Swiss early-stage startups and identifies up to five to pitch before the jury. Selected winners receive almost half of the services, worth approximately 200,000 Swiss francs, free of charge. Further support requires a success-based compensation either with equity or revenue; the remuneration depends on the startup's circumstances and conditions defined in the Agile Service Agreement. Prizes for each of the winners vary, as demonstrated on the award website.

The winners are:

1st place winner: autonomyo
Based in Epalinges (Vaud), autonomyo develops an intelligent rehabilitation exoskeleton solution for home use to enable people with muscular and neurological gait disorders to walk again. The complementary digital app enables therapists or patients to adjust the level of assistance for each, customise the rehabilitation program and get feedback on absolved training and the overall progress.

2nd place winner: GeneLook
The startup wants to involve patients and other stakeholders in the treatment pathway and provide them with data. To do this, they provide a platform for the secure sharing of genetic data for rare and chronic diseases.

3rd Place: Check Your Health
The Lausanne-based startup offers an accredited top quality Do-It-Yourself home lab check-up tool to test for maladies ranging from COVID, hormones, nutrition, or STD screenings. Within a couple of days, the company provides results via its encrypted web portal with a personalised video interpretation from a Swiss certified physician. The results also come with suggestions for areas that might require improvement.
