Three Vaud startups were granted FIT Digital funding. Remedok develops a platform for drug and health professionals, with the aim to decrease medicine waste. KickTheMap conceived a mobile application capable of capturing 3D data and modelling objects, habitations or lands, no matter their dimensions. KimboCare's platform allows to financially help underprivileged persons to access quality health services.

Remedok – Digital Seed Loan of CHF 50’000

A major part of a pharmacy financial losses is due to expired products: they usually cannot be returned to the wholesalers or exchanged and are thus removed from stock and destroyed. Approximately CHF 1’000  are lost each month by a pharmacies. At the same time, shortages of drugs that are left without any alternative supply possibility are becoming more and more common, and pharmacies are faced with ever narrower margins on drug sales. This is led Remedok to create a B2B marketplace dedicated to drug and health professionals. Accessing the platform is free, and Remedok only perceives a commission if a sale is closed on the platform. With a delivery system in whole Switzerland, including refrigerated products, the start-up hence enables drug and health professionals to join forces for the reduction of medicine waste, with economic benefits.

Founded in 2018 by Manuel Masconi, Flavio Valceschini and Arnaud Dandieu, Remedok recorded more than 150 registrations from pharmacies on the platform the first year. Wholesalers are Remedok’s partners and their customers include independent pharmacies, groups and chains. The FIT loan will allow Remedok to carry out the 1st developments to integrate its solution to its partners’ software and reinforce its presence on the market and in hospitals.

KickTheMap - Digital Seed Loan of CHF 50’000

The startup has developed a new photogrammetry service for mobile, based on an application, that simplifies and hastens the capturing and processing of georeferenced data, whilst lowering the cost of it. The application indeed performs at scale georeferenced 3D numerisation with high accuracy, and does not restrict the dimension of the model. Available on iOS, KickTheMap allows to model construction sites, lands or pipe trenches to meet the needs of various professionals, without any required skills for the user. Construction companies, cities, civil engineers, surveyors and architects can use KickTheMap to save time and reduce costs: the service offered by the application is up to three times cheaper than a traditional survey.

The start-up founded by Jérémie Locquet and Alexis Roze  has already been supported by a FIT grant of CHF 20’000 to democratize 3D data capture. The company also launched a web platform enabling clients to work on their project, whether that is utilities, surveying or stockpile computations. KickTheMap has already been downloaded more than one thousand times on the Apple AppStore since the beginning of the year and the start-up keeps on reinforcing its customer base. The FIT loan will allow it to further develop, and in particular to launch the Android version of their application and to improve data security on both the web platform and the application. The startup also plans on conducting a round of investment in 2021.

KimboCare – Digital Grant of CHF 50’000

Access to decent care is still a notable issue in developing countries and in particular when financial means act as a barrier to healthcare. At the same time, potential donors willing to help underprivileged people to access better care are refrained by the lack of transparency and by the rigidity of the currently existing charitable solutions. KimboCare wants to solve this issue with the introduction of its novel concept, a token named “health credits”. The token, transferred on the platform through an end-to-end transparent process, allows philanthropists to make safe donations. Indeed, payments are secured and traceable thanks to block-chain and artificial intelligence algorithms, enabling the use of health credits for intended purposes. Donors prepay medical services on the platform in the form of “health credits” and the patient can then immediately go to a partner clinic. The KimboCare platform ensures the effective delivery of the purchased medical services and directly pays the medical facility through the activation of a smart contract.

Created in 2019 by Franck and Murielle Tiambo, the start-up aims to help patients in West Africa. To that effect, the KimboCare team has launched a pilot in Ivory Coast and Cameroon, engaging with rigorously vetted local clinics to deliver quality care. On the other hand, target donors, often members of African Diaspora, primarily reside in regions such as Europe and North America. The FIT grant will allow the company reinforce the technological functionanities of its platform and develop a network of clinics in Ivory Coast and Cameroon. In the future, the start-up also plans on collaborating with diverse types of clients and partners, among which non-profit organisations, select public entities, and even insurance companies.
