At the «SICTIC Investor Day with Blockchain Challenge» in Zug 15 startups pitched before an audience of 240 investors and founders. The startups also competed for the Crypto Valley Blockchain Awards valued at a total of 30,000 Swiss Francs. The winners are Forseti (RUS) and Alethena (CH).

The «SICTIC Investor Day with Blockchain Challenge» was a satellite event of the «Crypto Valley Conference on Blockchain Technology». More than 60 international startups applied to get a chance to pitch to SICTIC investors as well as to compete for the Crypto Valley Blockchain Awards in the categories «Early Stage» and «Later Stage».

A selection of 15 startups made it on stage, where they each presented a 7-minute-pitch followed by five minutes of Q&A by the jury. Two startups kept a cool head - despite high temperatures in the Burgbachsaal - and were able to convince the jury of their business models:

Winner «Early Stage»: Forseti (RUS)
The Moscow based startup won 20,000 Swiss Francs. Forseti aims to build decentralized and self-regulating expert communities which would offer its users fair dispute resolution, fact validation, trustable data feeds as well as event reporting. The members of the expert community will receive mathematically balanced incentives based on a reputation system.

Winner «Later Stage»: Alethena (CH)
The Zug based startup received 10,000 Swiss Francs. Alethena intends to become the first Swiss ICO rating agency, offering reliable due diligence of ICOs and post-ICOs based on a transparent methodology.

The winner of the popular vote was the Irish startup AID:Tech, which focuses on the delivery of digital entitlements such as welfare, aid, healthcare and remittance using Blockchain technology and Digital Identity. The solution was successfully used to deliver international aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

Among the participating Swiss Startups were also Adjoint, Crypto Real Estate/ SwissRealCoin, Hey Mate, Hive Power, ABC Platform, Smart Valor and Silent-Power (Projects).

The next large investor event hosted by SICTIC will be the Swiss Fintech Investor Day held on November 14th in Zurich. Early Bird Tickets are now available.
