Registration for the StartCup Ticino 2016 is now open

The StartCup Ticino competition is an initiative of the USI-SUPSI Start-Up Promotion Center (CP Start-Up) promoted by the Ticino Regional Innovation System aiming at fostering entrepreneurship in the territory. The purpose of the competition is to reward the most innovative and promising business projects, conceived or realized in Ticino during the last five years.

20 startups will be preselected by independent experts appointed by the CP Start-Up. Out of which the CP Startup Committee of Experts will nominate ten startups that will present their ideas or projects before the jury during the auditions. The participating startups will be evaluated basing on their market potential, business model, team, innovativeness and their overall impact on the Ticino startup ecosystem. Only five outstanding startups will proceed to the award ceremony.

During the award ceremony on December 1^st 2016, the top five selected startups will present their projects to the jury who will select top five outstanding startups. Thanks to the contribution of the Department of finance and economy of the Canton Ticino,through its Economic Development Office, the BSI Bank Sponsor, the institutional partners – CTI, USI, SUPSI, AGIRE foundation – the top five finalists of the StartCup Ticino 2016 will be awarded with rewards of 50'000 CHF to the StratCup Ticino 2016 winner, 30’000 CHF to the second ranked project, 20'000 CHF to the third ranked project, 10'000 CHF to the fourth and fifth ranked projects. In addition to the money prize, the Top five will be automatically admitted to the second phase of the selection for the Swiss Economic Award and to the 2 Venture Day Ticino.
