Official Inauguration of Johnson & Johnson Innovation Hub

Swiss start-ups aspiring to a strategic partnership with Johnson & Johnson have now a single point of contact in Switzerland. The life sciences giant has opened its first J&J Innovation Hub on the European mainland at the main campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area in Allschwil.

Johnson & Johnson’s global innovation partnering teams provide early-stage startups and life science innovators with a single point of entry to the life sciences group. They connect potential collaborators to world-leading resources and aim to support them to advance transformation science and technology across the spectrum of pharmaceutical and medtech.

Recently, Johnson & Johnson has opened its first multi-purpose meeting room in its J&J office space on the Main Campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area in Allschwil close to Basel This represents an extension of J&J Innovation in London. Known as the Swiss Innovation Hub, this is the North American life sciences group’s first such facility located on the European mainland.

The hub is managed by Michael R. Hübner: “As the Early Innovation Partner for J&J Innovation in Switzerland, I am proud of my role in helping to shape health and well-being by championing transformational early healthcare innovation. We know true innovation takes a village and so we're continually seeking the most promising early innovations around the world that could benefit from our insight and collaboration.” Michael R. Hübner is Member of the Johnson & Johnson Switzerland Leadership Team since 2019. The company employs more than 5,700 staff in Switzerland.

The company is interested in collaborations in numerous fields in four focus areas: Medtech, Pharmaceuticals, Integrated Healthcare Solutions and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. The complete list and more information about J&J Innovation can be found on a dedicated website.

The Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area - Main Campus is situated in Allschwil, canton of Basel-Landschaft. By 2029, this innovation district will consist of five buildings and spans across 115,000 m2. The largest building, HQ, is located at the heart of the campus and houses the visitors center named “innovation lounge”, laboratories and coworking spaces. Around 40 organisations with more than 1000 employees are already based at the Main Campus.
