A Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event where individuals including developers, designers, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts from various disciplines meet to tackle the challenges of different magnitudes. The event aims to provide superior experiential education for both technical and non-technical entrepreneurs.
Beginning Friday night, every Individual pitches an idea that they have not previously pursued. Sought for ideas must address social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Through voting, they vote for most ideas feasible and form teams to conjoin their diverse skill sets.
Throughout the weekend, the teams brainstorm, build prototypes of their Minimal Viable Product (MVP) that fits the needs of their target customer as well as develop a business plan. Experienced entrepreneurs and coaches provide guidance and give feedback to teams, enabling them to make necessary iterations.
On Sunday night, industry experts present to the audience and, the teams present their solutions to receive feedback from local entrepreneurs.
The upcoming Startup weekends in Switzerland take place in Lausanne, February 22 - 24, 2019 and Biel/Bienne, March 22 - 24, 2019.
