Second Phase of venture competition has started

The second phase of the venture competition is open to all founders having ideas with great potential that needs to be translated into a solid business plan. Participants are supported by experienced coaches and receive additional support in form of events, workshops and information material. The total prize money for the second phase is at least CHF 125,000; the best presentation will be awarded CHF 60,000.

After celebrating the 10 successful winning teams of the first phase, the venture 2014 team announces the second phase of our competition. The goal in the upcoming phase is to provide participants with an optimal knowledge base not only on how to create a business plan but also on how to promote it. The second phase of the venture competition is open to everyone: Even teams that did not participate in phase one may register. Every founder having idea with great potential that needs to be translated into a solid business plan can register. The sooner participants register on www.venture.ch, the more they will benefit from the »venture» coaching and the upcoming workshops. 

»venture» 2014 is an initiative of the ETH Zurich, Knecht Holding, the innovation promotion agency CTI and McKinsey & Company, Switzerland. The Swiss-wide business plan competition supports young entrepreneurs in founding a company. »venture» 2014 aims to put to use untapped innovation potential by encouraging young entrepreneurs to develop a business idea. A number of renowned companies from Swiss industry and commerce sponsor the competition.

Experienced coaches support competition participants in the development of their business idea and the preparation of their business plans and in the search for suitable partners and the necessary capital. Participants also receive feedback from the team of highly qualified jurors.

Participants receive additional support in the form of various events, e.g., a series of “Founder Knowledge” seminars as well as special workshops. Comprehensive information material is also on offer, such as the business plan handbook “The New Venture Adventure – Succeed with Professional Business Planning.”

»venture» is addressed to budding entrepreneurs in Switzerland who have innovative business ideas. Participants may enter the competition as individuals or as a team.

In the second phase participants prepare and submit their business plans. The authors of the best plans will be invited to present them to the jury. In this phase, the total prize money is at least CHF 125,000; the best presentation will be awarded CHF 60,000.
