Bitspin, a start-up based in Zurich, has developed an innovative and easy-to-use alarm clock app called “Timely”. The company, founded in 2013, was now acquired by Google.

Bitspin was founded by a small team of developers who previously studied computer science at ETH Zurich. While studying the team already gained experience in entrepreneurship and product design by releasing several products and consulting for large Swiss companies. After University Adrian Roos, Selim Cinek, Jorim Jaggi and Christian Reiter formed the decision to become an independent developer studio and do what they love; creating great apps and products. Bitspin was officially founded in 2013. Before the start of Bitspin the team was known as Team Tasks and are internationally recognized for their successful Android app Tasks.

On the Bitspin webpage the start-up announces that it is joining Google. The team comments: “We're thrilled to announce that Bitspin is joining Google, where we'll continue to do what we love: building great products that are delightful to use. For new and existing users, Timely will continue to work as it always has.”

Timely was launched by Bitspin in August 2013. Timely is a blend of alarm clock, stopwatch and timer. Highlights include synced alarms across devices – users can choose to have alarms ring on all of their devices in sync, yet, they only have to dismiss or snooze the alarm on a single device. Other highlights are vast and fun color creative customizations and the responsive design. Timely works with smartphones, tablets and everything in between.
