Following pitches and Q&A at the Swiss Climate-KIC Venture Competition in Zurich end of July the Swiss jury made its decision: greenTEG was selected as best Swiss Climate Startup and will be participating in the final European Venture Competition round during the Climate-KIC Innovation Festival in Bologna, Italy, on 1-2 October 2012.
greenTEG’s technology enables efficiency in future energy conversion processes. Based on a novel manufacturing process developed at ETH Zurich, greenTEG will manufacture thermoelectric generators (TEGs) and cooling elements (TECs) in a totally new manner, resulting in bendable low-cost thermoelectric devices.
Runners-up to the grant are mysollars.com, a gamified solution to reduce and compensate your carbon footprint, and citiviz, an urban intelligence computing and geo-visualization system for strategic, tactical and operational decision making.
Climate-KIC aims to significantly accelerate the innovation required for the transformation to a low-carbon economy, and to ensure Europe benefits from new technologies, company growth and jobs. Climate-KIC’s Swiss entrepreneurship programme targets to generate more climate-related startup companies, help starters grow faster and accelerate market growth to the businesses.
