Awards bring money to startups but also increase their visibility. Recently startups in different fields have won awards or made it to the finals in different awards all over the world.

SOPHiA GENETICS has been selected as one of the winners of the TechEmerge award in Brazil. The startup developed SOPHiA Artificial Intelligence (AI), a universal technology for genomic data analysis. The AI platform enables the rapid adoption of genomic testing worldwide, turning data into actionable insights to help clinicians effectively diagnose and treat their patients. As winner of the award, SOPHiA will benefit from market-access program and receive funding to pilot its technology in the Brazilian market.

In Switzerland, SKINOW was awarded the third place at the Be an Innovator 2018 Final. The startup offers mountain railways a sustainable solution to increase their returns with an ideal interplay of dynamic pricing, data analytics and marketing.

At the SPOT in Lausanne (Switzerland), Fanpictor was among the four finalists out of 40 pitching startups. The startup developed a fan engagement software that generates a new income stream for sports teams and events while growing and activating their fan and sponsors' fan base with the help of choreographies. Fanpictor will benefit from the spotlight provided by the event, which hosted over 700 visitors from the sports industry.

In USA, Abionic made it to among the finalists of the YPO Global Innovation Awards, which recognise members who have initiated breakthrough innovations that inspire positive transformation. Abionic developed the abioSCOPE, the world’s most rapid diagnostic platform based on a drop of blood to improve medical diagnosis at point-of-care. Although the startup was not among the winners, it will benefit from YPO global network of more than 25,000 chief executives worldwid.

While some startups have won the challenges already, two startups are still in the run.

In the Netherlands, Luckabox made it to the final Top 5 of the first European Supply Chain Start-up Contest 2018. Luckabox developed a service aggregation web-platform that enables retailers in Switzerland and Europe to provide their e-commerce customers with quick and precise deliveries. Together with other four finalists, Luckabox will present its solutions at the inNOWvate Supply Chain Event on 24 May. The best startup will receive the Supply Chain Startup Award Europe and a marketing budget worth 40,000 euros.

Digipharm is among top 10 finalist in the Pfizer Healthcare Hub grant for 2018 in London. Digipharm is developing the world’s first smart contract platform for flexible pricing of healthcare technology and treatment provision, the world’s first ‘live’ real world evidence database and the ability to reward patients for contributing their data. As finalist in the award, the startup stands the chance to win £50’000, gain support to grow and reach more patients and providers faster, as well as access to Pfizer’s network and resources.

The regtech startup Apiax has been slected to demo its solution at the RegTech Global Summit. The regtech startup transforms complex regulations into easy-to-use digital compliance rules by combining legal and compliance expertise with cutting-edge technology. Apiax will present to the audience at the Global RegTech Summit and gain visibility though an extensive coverage on the RegTech Analyst platform. The startup’s profile will also be distributed to over 5,000 readers comprising senior compliance and technology decision-makers at the world’s largest financial institutions and regulatory and technology consultants from various advisory firms.
