Anemon, AVK systems, Pix4D and Xovis were awarded yesterday with the CTI Start-up Label. Although active in very different areas each company has to do with the processing and transmission of information in a smart way.

Out of the 21 companies which have received the CTI Startup label this year only 5 came from Western Switzerland. The meeting of the CTI certification board which took place yesterday in Bern changed this situation. Out of the four new label companies three are from the Romandie:

Anemon, based in St. Imier, develops embedded systems and server applications for the transmission and monitoring of biomedical parameters of livestock. Typical monitored data are the body temperature, the animal activity, tissues resistivity, pulse and the GPS position. Such embedded systems can be used to send SMS alerts to the breeder on predefined events. Estrus detection is one among several applications.

AVK systems is a Swiss technology firm dedicated to taking the audio experience in compelling broadcast content such as sport to a new high. For over 3 years now, the company has been actively involved in the design & development of products and services for the HD Sport Audio concept it has pioneered. The company, based in Lausanne, works in close collaboration with leading sport broadcasters, TV/Mobile operators, and sport federations

Pix4D develops advanced image processing algorithms making it possible to analyse and combine multiple aerial images to build three-dimensional (3D) models of the environment they depict. Pix4UAV, the product of the start-up,  is a unique software package that automatically converts thousands of standard pictures, taken by readily available drones, into a professional geo-referenced image. Compared with existing 3D mapping technologies, Pix4D’s proprietary solutions are fully automatic, faster, cost-effective, and often with better accuracy.

The Xovis PTS person tracking and counting system enables airports, railway stations, retail stores etc. to reach new levels of people flow analysis and steering. Besides the normal people counting, process and waiting times in queuing areas can be measured precisely. The behaviour of people can be analysed and the people flow can be steered. Munich Airport already uses the system of the start-up from Bern.
