Launched in 2021, the Wingman Campus Fund educates students and supports entrepreneurs to disrupt the startup culture on Swiss campuses, produce the next generation of tech leaders, and create more value for society. The first three selected and supported startups have been announced. More will follow.
Along the announcement of 4 new student partner, Wingman Campus Fund has just revealed the names of the 3 first startups selected in the Fall 2021 in a Medium post by Edouard Treccani. They received each CHF 20'000 in initial capital and get access to a pool of mentors consisting in experienced startup operators.
The selected startups are:

Closing the loop between computational prediction and experimental validation with cell-free synthetic biology and high-throughput nanofluidics. The process of identifying new antibodies is key to being able to combat different diseases such as viral infections, autoimmune disease, and cancers. Unfortunately, the current process for testing efficacy of new antibodies is slow and expensive, and has a failure rate of around 88%. Adaptyv Biosystems came up with a new technology which is quicker, cheaper, and offers higher quality data on the performance of potential antibodies. Providing high-accuracy AR applications that enable people to build better.
The construction industry is embracing digitalization to address long-standing productivity issues. While digital project planning (BIM) is being widely adopted there is still a disconnect between these models and the fragmented building teams on the construction site. incon.ai uses digital building models, machine vision, and augmented reality to provide a fully-integrated platform which can be licensed by contractors to build with higher skill and productivity. Transforming greenhouses into power plants without impacting plants’ growth.
Greenhouses are key to a sustainable food system. However, they have significant energetic needs resulting in a large carbon footprint and high energetic costs. Most greenhouse vegetables are high-light crops and cannot afford shading. Voltiris’ solution for greenhouse owners is to filter sunlight: light components (colors) not used by plants are used to generate electricity. Voltiris’ solution results in a competitive energy price and an energetic output at par with standard PV panels. Responsible for the partnership at Wingman Campus Fund is Janes Spranger.
More startups to be supported soon
This semester, the Wingman Campus Fund team expects to pace up and select another 10 startups to invest in and support across the ETH Zürich (ETHZ), EPF Lausanne (EPFL) and the University of St. Gallen (HSG) campuses.
