Università della Svizzera italiana is organizing a course in Lugano on June 3-7, 2013. As already done in the last years, CTI funds registrations for the advanced 5 days course on BioEntrepreneurship, BioBusiness.

The high-level course BioBusiness aims to promote entrepreneurship in the field of biotechnology. It provides a content-rich overview of the life sciences industry, entrepreneurship and venture financing. The program is tailored to the needs of individuals planning to create, finance, and support successful biotechnology companies or wishing to better understand the global biotechnology sector. During the week, participants may draft a plan for developing a new initiative in their area.  The total number of participants is limited to 30.

Lectures will be held in English by a world-class team of lecturers from academia, industry and venture capital. One of them is Dr Shreefal Mehta of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a recipient of the New York capital region's Future Business Leaders "40 under 40" Award. He is the author of “Commercializing successful Biomedical Technologies”, which Nature Biotechnology has referred to as "the Bioentrepreneur's Road map".

CTI supports this innovative course concept and has offered to fund the full registration fees of 2,900 Swiss francs for 10 participants/companies. If you are preparing to set up your own company or have already done so and you are interested in attending the BioBusiness program, please complete the attached application form and return it by December 14, 2012 at latest together with your CV (please indicate the CTI Coach) to heidrun.flaadt@usi.ch.
