Bcomp has attracted new customers last year. Some of them show their innovative products at ISPO and were awarded by the jury of the ISPO Awards. Stöcklis new Spirit Otwo is the GOLD WINNER in the Ski segment, category Ski on Piste.
The trend towards eco superior products is fully established. This is further proven by the success of the Swiss company Bcomp Ltd, specialized in natural fibre composites. Different brands are taking advantage of the efficiency of the boosting natural fibre technologies at this year’s international winter sport exhibition ISPO in Munich.
Bcomp is producing non_crimp flax fabrics, named ampliTex. This product results in the strongest and stiffest natural fibre composites currently on the market. The flax fabrics are using the half the weight of current glass fibres to reach the same performance and triple the damping properties. Several innovative brands have integrated ampliTex in their products and will present these innovative products at ISPO Munich, the only international multi-segment trade show for sports business.
The jury of ISPO Awards 2013 awarded two of Bcomp customers. The Lynx from Idris Skis was awarded the "Environmental Excellence" and was chosen as "WINNER" in the Ski segment, category Ski off Piste. Stöckli’s Spirit Otwo is the “GOLD WINNER” in the Ski segment, category Ski on Piste.
In addition several Bcomp customers will present skis and snowboards with the Bcomp core material with significantly higher mechanical properties when compared to standard structural foams, increasing the shear properties by a factor 5_10, the compression properties by 2_3, at a density 3_5 times lower than woods currently used in the ski and board industry.
Customers that exhibit products with a core from Bcomp at ISPO include Stöckli Skis, Whitedot, Dupraz and the Swiss start-up Faction.
