Deeptech startups score places in global programs

Acceleration programs enable startups to access support from experts from different industries and act as a springboard for their growth. We Play Sport, and Witty Works have joined two of such programs. Swissloop brought home two awards from the European Hyperloop Week.

We Play Sport is one of 20 selected startups for the 500 Global Accelerator Taiwan with TTA 2022. The 8-week program focuses on business foundations, startup growth, and scaling globally. 500 Global has run more than 80 growth and accelerator programs for over 3,000 startups worldwide. As a venture capital firm with $2.7B in assets under management, it invests in founders building fast-growing technology companies. Its portfolio comprises 5,000 founders representing over 2,600 companies operating in 81 countries.

We Play Sport uses computer vision and AI technology to capture ball sports footage with mobile phones and convert it into professional, shareable highlights, videos and statistics. The Swis startup will receive 1:1 mentorship and guidance from experienced mentors and best practices for business development and investor management. The programme also offers curated social events to connect with startup founders, venture capital industry stakeholders, corporates from various industries in Taiwan and across the globe.

Witty works – German Accelerator, US entry
The German Accelerator supports high-potential German startups on a fast-paced learning journey to understand, discover, and access the world’s leading innovation hubs in the U.S. and Asia. Through highly-customized programs, mentoring from dedicated experts, as well as access to our vast network of business partners and investors, we help startups from all stages and across various industries on their way to international success. The 2022 cohort for the U.S. Market Access Class of 2022-3 in New York comprises 12 startups including Witty Works. The Zurich-based startup developed a text-editing tool that enables companies to unlock diversity and become inclusive. The tool checks texts for discrimination in real-time and suggests inclusive language to help clients avoid unconscious stereotypes in their communication. Swissloop – EHW
Swissloop has received two awards from the European Hyperloop Week (EHW), a week-long event providing updates on the developments in and around the field of Hyperloop. The event also gives student teams from around the world the opportunity to show their groundbreaking Hyperloop prototype designs to the public and to industry representatives. Six awards are presented in different categories to the best teams. Swissloop, comprised of a team of around 30 mechanical/electrical engineers, material and computer scientists from the ETH, is developing the fastest next-generation pod vehicle and creating a sustainable transportation infrastructure. The team debuted its pod prototype at EHW, winning itself two awards. The Traction Subsystem Award and the Mechanical Subsystem Award, attributed to the design and quality of the startup’s track. “Thanks to the high quality and precision of the steel profiles used to create the custom rails, we were able to assemble our track swiftly and hassle-free, " explained the company’s post.
