The Swiss Medtech Award launches registration phase

The Swiss medical sector has seen exponential growth over the years generating over 15.8 billion Swiss francs in revenues, 1.7 billion more than two years ago, as presented in the 2018 Swiss Medical Technology Industry (SMTI) report. New trends and innovations have equivalently emerged demonstrating the strength and contribution of the sector to the Swiss economy.  

The Swiss Medtech Day organised by Swiss Medtech in partnership with Innosuisse will once again provide a platform for over 650 players from industry, trade, research and startups in the medical technology. The event offers essential insights into the challenges and opportunities affecting the industry.

Besides Keynote speeches and breakout sessions, the event will host the Swiss medtech Award and the Poster session focusing mainly on startups.

The Swiss Medtech Award will recognize outstanding accomplishments in the Swiss medical technology industry. Winners of the award will be announced and awarded a prize of CHF 50’000 during the Swiss Medtech Day. Eligible to apply are startups focusing on new medical devices with high patient benefit, their solutions lead to cost savings increased efficiency in healthcare and are pioneering in of groundbreaking technologies or processes. The deadline for application submissions is 28 February 2019.

The Poster Session provides networking opportunities with industry players. Last year, visitors at the Swiss Medtech Day had the chance to exhibit 39 posters. For the upcoming event, the organizing team invites startups to submit their application before 8 March 2019. The poster session is designed for startups with solutions in the field of medical engineering, new technologies, product innovations, process innovations and innovative business models. Moreover, eight posters selected by a jury in the poster session will have the opportunity to join the science slam and to pitch to the audience who will select the winner.
