Companies for next Swiss Venture Day selected

On 26 March the next Venture Day will be held. Seven companies will present: 3db technologies, Amal Therapeutics, Amphasys, Medimaps, SMIXIN, Transcure Biosciences and Yumez. In addition there will be two elevator pitches by Bluetector and Trekksoft.

Like last time, again seven promising young companies have been selected today by the Board of CTI Invest for the next Swiss Venture Day. Five of them are from the Life Sciences and Medtech sector. Two other companies will join the event for short elevator pitches as their financing rounds are well advanced. The Venture Day takes place at the SWX Swiss Exchange, Zurich, on 26 March in the afternoon. Registration on the website of CTI Invest. In the morning there will be an Angelday led by Dr. Christian Wenger (Chairman CTI Invest). The topic of this interactive workshop for business angels will be Termsheets (www.angelday.ch).

Presenting companies in alphabetical order:
 
Proximity verification has been implemented in an insecure way in many commercial security-critical systems an example is Passive Keyless Entry and Start (PKES) used in modern cars. 3db technologies provides accurate distance measurement combined with strong security mechanisms for secure proximity verification.
 
Amal Therapeutics is a privately-held Swiss start-up company, spin-off of the University of Geneva. Its mission is to develop and progress novel therapeutic cancer vaccines with a proprietary family of vectors fused to rationally designed chimeric proteins.
 
Amphasys, incorporated in 2012 in Lucerne, Switzerland, as a spin-off from Leister AG (Kaegiswil, Switzerland), focuses its activities in developing and marketing a novel, chip-based single cell analysis technology. Amphasys' devices, so-called Impedance Flow Cytometers, are used in basic cell research, but are also designed for routine quality control applications in industrial processes.
  
Medimaps Group, established in 2006, has Headquarters in Geneva and a R&D center in Bordeaux. Medimaps has developed market leading medical software that assesses bone texture. The company is already selling an osteoporosis diagnostic product. Medimaps is preparing to launch two software products for orthopedic and dental implant surgery.
 
To address the simultaneous need of hygiene and water saving, SMIXIN reinvented the hand washing process by combining a tap and soap dispenser into a comprehensive hand washing system and by optimizing the soap-water dosing and mixing. The system reduces the water consumption by 90%.
 
TransCure Biosciences (TCB) provides access to humanized immune system (HIS) and HIV mouse models for studying infectious and non-infectious diseases of the human immune system. TCB also aims at developing a radical, definitive clinical cure against HIV/AIDS.

Yumez (ECG4U)  offers a portable device which allows to make state-of-the-art 12-lead ECG at home. The ECG unit is capable of recording the ECG data as well as transferring it to a computer. The patient then can upload the data to a cloud space. The physician report is then sent to the patient via PDF or regular e-amil.
 
In addition there will be two elevator pitches by the Cleantech start-up Bluetector and the IT company Trekksoft. The companies will close their financing rounds soon and are looking for additional investors.
