Two new CTI Start-up Label companies were selected yesterday by the Certification Board, Biognosys and Stagend.com.

The Second Swiss Venture Capital Report published last week has shown how successful companies with the CTI Start-up Label are. Last year those companies generated more than CHF100m venture capital. The two companies which were awarded the label yesterday are very promising start-ups too both addressing huge but totally different markets.

Biognosys’ “targeted proteomics” can quantify proteins from any biological sample with unbeatable precision and speed. The solution is based on a novel mass spectrometric technology that allows simultaneous measurement of thousands of proteins in one sample and subsequent storage of the full information in a digital protein map, which acts as a tool to monitor health, detect the onset of diseases, and discover biomarkers.

Customers of the start-ups can perform the tests with reagents and software of the company themselves or use the Biognosys service for measurements. There is a strong demand for the products and assays as well as for the service. The company was founded in 2008 and is located in Schlieren.

Stagend.com provides an online platform where practically anyone can book music artists for any occasion. The platform enables anyone organizing an event (live clubs, festivals, corporate events, private parties, weddings, etc.) to publish a ‘booking offer’, for which artists can apply. The matching artist and the event organizer can negotiate and close the deal directly on the site.

Stagend.com has a freemium business model. Artists have limited access to booking offers for free. To get wider up to unlimited access, they need to upgrade to premium accounts The platform was launched in May 2013 in Switzerland and has built up a big and growing artist community (1000+) of any music genre you might like - from jazz to rock, from brass bands to party djs.

CTI Start-up enables creative entrepreneurs to realize their innovative business ideas quickly and professionally. The Start-up Label is a seal of quality, a certificate of achievement, and a sign of credibility and readiness for sustainable growth. It is awarded by the CTI Certification Board that is composed of seasoned entrepreneurs and experts.
