The 3rd edition of Swiss Mobicamp flung open its doors today and started registration for the next chapter of this highly acclaimed initiative. This year’s edition held in Bern on the 31st October promises to be the best yet.

Swiss Mobicamp, founded by Martin Coul was initially conceived as a one off and the inaugural event was delivered on a shoe string budget in true start-up fashion in less than 90 days. Now firmly established on the Swiss scene as the only dedicated mobile event, the 3rd edition, kindly hosted by Swisscom, will be held in Bern on the 31st October.

The team have recruited 20 speakers representing 10 nationalities from 3 continents. These include the GM, Mobile from Sony who is travelling from Tokyo, Ed Brill who is responsible for the management of IBM’s entire portfolio of mobile software and services and the guy who wrote the business plan and led the negotiations that brought Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, Sony, Samsung and others together to create Symbian.

Attendees can expect a high-octane blend of keynotes from industry veterans, 1-1 sessions, workshops and great networking opportunities. For the first time Mobicamp will witness 8 workshops – up from 3 at the inaugural event. In another first they will also be running Mobile Clinics all day with two mobile industry veterans operating ‘walk in’ sessions.

As a direct result of their exposure to fledgling businesses in Switzerland, the team at The Coul Room have noticed a considerable disconnect between the amount of good business advice given out and that which is actually acted upon.  Therefore, the day before Mobicamp they'll be hosting a facilitated peer review session in Bern called InterAct that will allow you to validate and evolve your business concept; that will facilitate change, where it is required; and will introduce you to similarly minded entrepreneurs, for you to interact with and hopefully even work with. The session will last most of the day and they hope it will be intense and tiring, but rewarding for all concerned.

Registration for Mobicamp is now open and there are a limited number of early bird tickets available. The first 20 people to register will be entered into a draw to win the latest Nokia Windows 8 smartphone plus 2 tickets to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2014. A prize valued at approx CHF2500.

Previous events sold out so we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment. More info can be found via mobicamp.ch and by following @thecoulroom on Twitter.
