We are most excited to welcome you for our first event at the new tech incubator "TheHub" of Startup@HSG - right next to Ostschweizer Fachhochschule in St. Gallen.

This event features a keynote speech from successful founders Andreas Brenner of Avrios + Jua and Matthias Heller of Lightly.

Andreas studied Business, Finance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Universities of St. Gallen, Hong Kong, Washington, and Technical University Singapore. After starting his career in business development at Brenner Schweiz, he co-founded Avrios International AG, an SaaS platform for tailored transportation - Avrios was an HSG Spin-off, winner of Venture Kick, and laureate of the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award for three consecutive years. After several funding rounds attracting more than CHF 20 million in investments, Avrios was sold to Battery Ventures in 2023. Andreas is an active investor in many startup companies and now the CEO of his next startup Jua, providing AI for weather-dependent energy trading.

Matthias studied Business, Economics, and Computer Science at the University of St. Gallen, Harvard, and HEC Paris. After internships in venture capital and starting his career at Boston Consulting Group, he co-founded the HSG spin-off Lightly - a data curation platform for machine learning. The company has since won Venture Kick, got selected for Y Combinator and ESA BIC Switzerland, and raised more than CHF 3 million in funding.

The entrepreneurs will talk about their startups and share details about their journey building scalable tech companies. They will also help answer some of your questions during the Q&A session:

  • How to become an entrepreneur?
  • How to validate my idea?
  • How to fund my idea?
  • How to find help to bring my idea to life?

You will also be introduced to different support programs available to new entrepreneurs:
  • Venture Kick: up to CHF 150,000 pre-seed capital for business development
  • InnoBooster: up to CHF 150,000 grant to accelerate market entry
  • First Ventures: up to CHF 150,000 financial support and tailored coaching program for University of Applied Science students

Thank you to the Gebert Rüf Stiftung for supporting this event.
