Venture Briefiins are a series of events for students who want to discover the path of entrepreneurship and take their first steps in creating a successful startup.

 
The entrepreneur Carlos Ciller will be sharing his experience and answering your questions:

Carlos holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from EPFL (2012) and a PhD in Machine Learning / Image Processing /Ophthalmology, between the Medical Image Analysis Laboratory (MIAL-CIBM) of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) at CHUV, and the Ophthalmic Technologies Laboratory, ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering at Universität Bern (2016). He has been a project manager R&D at Esteve Teijin Healthcare, and held positions as Director and President (in Lausanne and London) for the Innovation Forum. After being a member of the Board of Directors at MoonshineLabs, he launched Retinai. 
Carlos is the CEO of Retinai, which he co-founded in 2017. Retinai is a software company that develops tools for doctors and researchers to study new medicines, manage medical trials, and improve care for people with eye diseases by organizing and analyzing health information. Retinai has successfully raised more than CHF 2M after several financial rounds. 

 
Carlos  will share his experience and will also take time to answer your questions during a Q&A session:
 
  • How can I become an entrepreneur?
  • How can I validate my idea?
  • How can I finance my startup?
  • How can I find help to bring my idea to life?
 
We will also introduce you to different support programs:

  • Venture Kick (up to 150k pre-seed capital for business development) 
  • InnoBooster (up to 150k grant to accelerate market entry) 
  • First Ventures (financial support and tailored coaching program for University of Applied Science students)
