Motivated by its strategy as an "Entrepreneurial University", the UZH has launched a new program that provides students with a background in the Life Sciences with both interdisciplinary, science-based and practice-oriented training in entrepreneurial life sciences and translational medicine.

The combination of research knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking spurs medical progress. If the translation of findings from basic research into the world of a business succeeds, ideas turn into marketable products, therapies and applications. Conversely, research can be inspired by practical needs in the life sciences.

The specialized Minor will deliver:

  • Proven know-how at the interface of scientific and economic thinking

  • Entrepreneurial skills

  • A ten-week internship with valuable insights into a company in the life science industry

  • Tools for the translation of ideas from basic research into marketable products, therapies and applications

  • Entrepreneurial perspectives and new professional chances

Further information is available at www.bme.uzh.ch. The courses are in English and start in HS 2020.
