THE SPOT is back in May 2023! The annual international sport and innovation event is organised by ThinkSport with the support from EPFL, University of Lausanne and the SwissTech Convention Center. THE SPOT spans over two days, starting with an evening event at the Olympic Museum on Monday, 8 May, and a full-day programme at the SwissTech Convention Centre on Tuesday, 9 May. It gathers between 500 and 700 representatives of the Swiss and international sports industry as well as startups, innovators, investors, scientists, and academicians.
This year's THE SPOT theme is how digitalisation, innovation and sustainability mutually benefit and impact the new understanding of customer behaviours, leadership, lifestyle and sports.
Sport meets innovation
Speaking of the international sport and innovation flagship event vision, Anna Hellman, Director of ThinkSport, explains: “Sport is about passion, being together, having fun and team spirit, and today we should integrate sport when addressing together the challenges we face. Sport is an important vehicle and provides a test ground to help us move forward and find collective solutions.”
The programme will feature inspiring panels, TED talks, new perspectives and case studies all of which will identify enablers for sustainable transformation journeys. In addition, participants will be able to present and delve into new products and solutions at the Marketplace and the Demo Zone; see selected smart companies and organisations go toe-to-toe in the final pitch session of a Sustainability Challenge (more to come soon!); and network, network, and network, harnessing new opportunities for cross-sector partnerships and projects.
