Three Foodtech startups will present to the audience how they are rethinking and reshaping the industry.

The food industry is changing faster than ever: From how food is designed and where it is grown, to solving new customer needs and eating habits. Hence, a new food ecosystem is emerging with different players and highly innovative startups. They are shaping a new era and rethinking the way we eat and what we eat towards healthier and environmentally friendly food. Let’s take a glimpse behind the scenes and explore the future with three of the most promising Swiss FoodTech startups.

Planted, a spin-off of ETH Zürich produces protein-containing alternatives to chicken. Planted represents healthy nutrition without the killing of animals. They have saved more than 137’000 chicken so far. Pascal Bieri, Co-Founder, will take us on a journey into a world of plant-based meat.

YASAI is a vertical-farming startup disrupting the way how food is produced. Tanks to their “vertical farming as a service” solution they enable people to grow more with less: more biodiversity, more taste, and less footprint, zero pesticides and food miles - all in a local circular food system. Mark E. Zahran, Co-Founder & CEO, will share the story of YASAI.

MIRAI FOODS, the only Swiss startup in this space, is growing real meat directly from animal stem cells in their lab – without genetic modification. Compared to legacy meat MIRAI will dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, land and water usage. Alexandre Morel, R&D Tissue Engineer, will talk about their mission to produce meat that is environmentally, ethically and economically sustainable.

The food industry will soon look nothing like its former self – join us to explore the future. You also have the chance to experience the future now: We will draw one (1) tasting package of delicious planted chicken at our online event.
