Women empowerment to close the financial and sustainability - these are some of the key aspects that convinced juries worldwide to award Lars Brille and Ellexx. Eightinks and Yeastup are among the finalists of the Hello Tomorrow challenge. They will present to a global audience in Paris in March.

The 9th edition of the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge received 4500 applications from which the selection committee selected 70 finalists that demonstrated superior technological innovation, economic viability, leadership, team structure, and positive impact on different industries, the planet and society. Two Swiss startups made it to the finalists.  They will pitch their solutions to a global audience at the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit, on 21st and 22nd March in Paris. Based in Zurich, Eightinks –selected for the category Energy – has the ambition to develop powerful lithium-ion batteries based on its proprietary technology platform. This allows the company to combine novel cell designs and high-performance materials to foster mass production.

Yeastup will compete in the category of Food and Agriculture. The Brugg-based startup is upcycling the by-products from beer-brewing processes into high-quality, nutritious ingredients such as proteins and dietary fibres. The company currently has two products: Yeastin for manufacturers of animal-free products and UpFiber, for the food and cosmetics industry
