Start-ups sought to tackle climate change

Innovate4climate (I4C) launches a new start-up challenge on October 22. By pooling resources, expertise and networks, the initiators want to give a boost to climate entrepreneurship and catalyse entrepreneurial solutions for the environment’s largest problems. The next free ideation workshop for the challenge will take place on 14 October.

The I4C autumn challenge 2014 is accepting applications for the best ideas to tackle climate change. Ideas that fit the requirements can win seed funding of up to CHF 15’000 to develop a business model. Successful teams will get the opportunity to receive further financial support in the future. On top of this the winners of the I4C summer challenge 2014 become part of an incubation program including access to coaching, expert support, master classes, exposure and access to talent as well as networking support. Ideas can be submitted on https://innovate4climate.ch from October 22 until November 11 (midnight). 

Innovate4climate (I4C) is a joint initiative developed by Climate-KIC and its affiliate partners WWF Switzerland, Impact Hub Zürich and BlueLion. I4C comprises of a variety of initiatives, including a three stage accelerator programme, networking events and a match-making service for start-ups looking for talented professionals. The three stages are:

There are three ways to participate:

  • Generate a new idea, for example by participating in an ideation workshop.
  • Submit your idea to the competition
  • Help others to improve their ideas by commenting them and voting for them on our platform, or becoming part of their team.
