Pyrates Luxury to further develop their High-end collection in Berlin

The 12 selected finalists have one aspect in common; they speak the language of “High-tech Fashion”. They have exploited the current technological advancements to create and establish a new generation in the fashion industry. Be it clothes from recycling bottles, cashmere, 3D printed Bluetooth jewellery and clothes, LED lamps integrated in clothes or solar T-shirts, the young designers have proven that the fashion industry is indeed developing along with technology.

Fashion Fusion, an initiative of the Deutsch Telekom is working towards supporting such ideas in order to promote creativity and further build young designers of tomorrow. This year, 120 fashion designers from 25 European nations applied to participate in challenge to prove themselves, show case their achievements before the jury, to receive feedback and get the chance to join the Fashion Fusion Lab.

The jury of renowned industry representatives and fashion scene selected from all entries from the best ideas in three categories: Connected Devices & Accessories, Digitally Enhanced Fashion and Smart Services. They were assessed following the criteria: functionality, sustainability and the popularity of smart fashion that enriches people’s lives in the long term. 12 finalists were nominated and will be joining the Fashion Fusion Lab to further develop their ideas and bring them to reality. They will be supported by a team of experts throughout their stay in the Lab from 19 September until the end of the year.

Among them is a team of Swiss designers led by Regina Polanco, co-founder and CEO of Pyrates Luxury. Since their establishment in 2014, Pyrates has been specialising in producing and manufacturing a high-end wear such as jogging wear, pyrates dresses among others. Pyrates is described as a technology applied to fashion. Pyrates clothing is made out of pyrates smart fabric, technological textile fabrics that care for and protect the body.
