RedCut, a fast-growing company best-known for the game about Switzerland named Helvetiq, launches its first game in the US. NYC IQ is the ultimate test of city smarts for the Big Apple. The game is sold at the MoMa, Guggenheim Museum other renowned museum shops and online.

NYC IQ is a trivia game, allowing natives, new arrivals, and nostalgic transplants to prove they know the city better than anyone. The game comes with 400 multiple choice questions spanning all five boroughs; correct answers are counted as IQ points, and the winner is granted NYC insider status. From Harlem to Hell's Kitchen, the Guggenheim to the Gowanus Canal, Fashion Week to Yankees-speak to Knickerbocker lore and more, the game rewards those truly in the know, while revealing hidden secrets that will surprise even the most knowledgeable New Yorkers. Sleek graphics and game components ensure that this simple but sophisticated package will be displayed on the cityphile's coffee table.

NYC IQ is the first game that RedCut launches in the US. The story of the company based in Lausanne started in 2008 when the founder, Hadi Barket, was preparing for a citizenship test. That moment triggered the idea for creating a game about Switzerland that would be instructive and fun. The founders named the game Helvetiq and produced the first 3000 copies financed by themselves. The copies sold in 3 weeks. The game is now a classic sold at more than 25’000 copies. Follow-up titles, in print and digital formats, reached the top of best-selling lists. After Switzerland the company published a game in Belgium and found similar success.

The news game focussing on New York is sold at several museum shops in the city but also available online from Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
