New leadership at Swiss startups

Five executive members have taken up their seats in the management boards of Swiss startups. With their wealth of experience in various fields, the new leaders will support the startups to reach their next milestones.

MV Biotherapeutics was established in 2018 as a spin-off from the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in Bellinzona. He startup developed a patent-protected Apy platform to provide a unique mechanism to generate a protective immune response against enteric infections and to shape the intestinal microbiota in medical conditions with two of its applications, ApyraVax and ApyraMed.

The Ticino-based company has named Gabriel Haering as CEO. Haering has more than 20 years of senior management experience. In the last eleven years, he was Chief Executive Officer of Cerbios-Pharma SA based in Switzerland. Gabriel brings a wealth of experience in business development, strategy and organization with which he will help MVBio to move into the next clinical stages and develop strategic alliances with investors and partners.

Farmer Connect, CEO
Farmer Connect, together with government, industry, technology companies, is developing traceability solutions to increase transparency, efficiency and fairness in the coffee industry. Since June the company is operating under the leadership of Michael Chrisment, who has joined the company as its Chief Executive Officer. Michael brings a wealth of marketing, media, and FMCG experience, notably in the food industry working for both Kraft Foods (now Mondelēz) and Nestlé in digital marketing and media, as well as marketing agencies such as TBWA\and Ogilvy.

Neurosoft, Chief Business Officer
Neurosoft Bioelectronics, developing the future of seamless implantable electrodes to monitor and treat neurological diseases has welcomed Karsten Bagger its Chief Business Officer (CBO). Karsten has a masters degree in finance and has previously worked at UBS as an investment strategist. Over the past six years, he has mainly led medtech startups with responsibilities in business development and fundraising.

Two executive members at NetGuardians
NetGuardians, a fintech company that developed the first augmented intelligence solution made for banks to proactively prevent fraud has welcomed two new members to its executive committee.

Frédéric Crettenand, CFO of NetGuardians, joined the team in 2018 from Nestle Nespresso, bringing with him 15 years of professional experience in diverse finance and business development roles in international companies. Prior to Nestlé, he used to work for the Boston Consulting Group and Tetra Pak. Besides heading up our finance team, he is also a key member of the startup’s customer/partner contract negotiating team, accountable for financial and legal matters. Frédéric holds an MBA with distinction from the London Business School and graduated from HEC Lausanne.

Peter Marini heads up the NetGuardians Asia Pacific organization as the Managing Director. With more than 20 years’ experience in tech sales in mature and emerging markets, Peter draws on his excellent technical knowledge and a deep understanding of customer journeys to advise financial institutions about fraud prevention and mitigation. Throughout his career, Peter has focused on helping organizations overcome business challenges, from securing their environment to improving their relationships with customers.
