After combining their business entities, Vaud based deeptech startups Alpine Intuition and Cohesive Computing have formed SquareFactory, a full-stack AI-as-a-Service company. Community platforms Crossiety and Eventfrog have also teamed up to simplify the event landscape in Switzerland and Germany.

Lausanne based Alpine Intuition developed technology that allows for the automatic deployment of AI models. By October last year, the startup had strong traction, which enabled it to raise CHF500,000 to accelerate growth. On the other hand, Cohesive Computing is based in Ecublens (VD) and specialises in deep learning and high-performance computing (HPC). Both founded by EPFL post-graduates, the two companies have agreed to merge their businesses to a new company – SquareFactory.

SquareFactory will offer a full end-to-end MLOps platform for training, deploying, and hosting AI models cost-effectively, at scale. It will also offer consulting and development services to help businesses efficiently implement AI solutions and help them transition to the new era. iSquare, the end-to-end MLOps platform by SquareFactory, allows companies to train, host and deploy ML models into production automatically and at low-cost. “The company can point to up to 70% time savings – with as little as one-month time-to-value – and five times productivity improvements using its platform compared to manually deploying AI models”, as stated in the company’s announcement.

Simplifying the event landscape
The two Swiss startups Eventfrog and Crossiety are launching a partnership to simplify the publication of events for associations and small and medium-sized event organisers. The cooperation gives Crossiety users direct access to the largest event agenda in Switzerland. Event organisers on Eventfrog benefit from the additional reach that the Crossiety network of cities and municipalities offers.

Associations and small and medium-sized event organisers usually have to register events on several platforms to achieve the desired reach. In addition, the event platforms charge high fees for ticketing and other services. That is why the two startups Crossiety and Eventfrog, founded in 2016, decided to collaborate strategically. Crossiety’s Digital Village Square is the local and trusted platform for communities and cities used by 100 municipalities and approximately 544,000 inhabitants. Eventfrog is Switzerland’s largest digital event calendar and offers free ticketing to event organisers.

Via a technical interface, events all over Switzerland and Germany are now transferred from Eventfrog to Crossiety. Crosstiety users benefit from the rich event offering, and event organisers can use Eventfrog’s free event organisation solution. Thanks to Crossiety, they can also reach local audiences in communities and cities more targeted.
