The managing company of the Swiss Technology Fund announces that the Federal Office for the Environment, FOEN granted another loan guarantee to an innovative Swiss start-up: Joulia SA based in Biel.
Joulia SA develops, produces and markets an innovative heat recovery module which is based on the so called “Joulia-inline” technology. The product is invisibly integrated into a slim channel in the shower floor and efficiently recovers heat energy from the warm shower water as it goes down the drain to pre-heat the incoming cold water. By this procedure 25 to 50 percent of heat energy can be saved, depending on the size of the implemented module.
Reto Schmid, CEO of Joulia SA is happy about the positive decision taken by the Technology fund: „The loan guarantee accelerates our investment in commercialization and industrialization. In addition we plan to promote product trainings and sales.” The market introduction is planned in January 2016 on the occasion of Swiss Bau, the leading trade fair for construction industry in Switzerland. However, by now doz-ens of flagship projects have already been successfully endowed with the innovative tech-nology.
Simone Riedel Riley, General Manager of the Technology Fund adds: „Joulia-inline is a convincing combination of standardization and simple installation. The first signed coopera-tion with premium supplier Laufen bathrooms AG shows that not only end customers but also established industry specialists see an added value in the sustainable bathroom innovation.”
Innovative SMEs, which are developing and marketing climate friendly technologies, can apply for a loan guarantee of up to CHF 3 million from the Technology Fund. The application form is available online at www.technologyfund.ch.
