The Swiss data safe provider, SecureSafe, introduces a new feature that enables the secure transmission of data to third parties.  This feature is of particular interest to companies, organisations and agencies that need to send confidential documents such as contracts and personal information via email.

Due to a lack of good alternatives, many companies are still sending confidential documents via email or sharing this information through American cloud services such as Dropbox. Therefore, this sensitive information and private customer data can be easily spied on for example, through an unprotected email server and in the worst case the data ends up in the wrong hands.

To enable the secure transmission of documents for its more than 400,000 customers worldwide and to avoid spying, the Swiss data safe provider, SecureSafe, has now launched a new file transfer feature.  The new feature ensures the secure transfer of files directly from a customers data safe without the data having to leave the unprotected environment of SecureSafe before it is downloaded.

Higly secure encryption and a protected download link offer maximum security

"Before transferring the file, an encrypted copy of the document is created and stored in a temporary safe that is automatically created for the recipient," explains Tobias Christen, CEO of SecureSafe. "Just like every SecureSafe, also the temporary safe has a highly secure encryption," Christian added.  The recipent receives a download link via email which they can then use to download the file securely.  Premium account holders can also add further protection with a security code which is automatically sent to the recipient via SMS. "The separate transmission of a download link and a security code ensures that only the authorized person can gain access to the data," says Christen.

This feature is of particular interest to businesses, organisations and agencies that need to regularly send confidential documents such as contracts or personal information.  Of course, private customers can also use the function which is integrated into each SecureSafe account.
