During the TECH IN SUISSE event in Lausanne, Swiss start-ups will have the unique opportunity to showcase their technology, product and pitch their business model to Chinese investors. In addition three start-ups win a trip to China plus 1 year free office space at a partner incubator.

Driven by fast economic growth and boosted by the public policy of “Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, VC investments in China have grown substantially during the past few years, approaching a growth rate similar to Silicon Valley. In Q1’15 alone, Chinese VCs invested USD$ 6.53B in 205 startups, the median investment per company being USD$ 7.98M (source: Dow Jones Venture Capital Report). During the same period there has been 92 exits, including 74 IPOs, 15 M&As, and 2 MBO/LBOs (source: Zero2IPO Research).

Swiss startups can benefit from larger financing rounds as well as resources from Chinese investors in order to prepare for entrance into the Chinese market. The synergy created between Swiss technology, extra capital, and the Chinese market access would be crucial to building the next unicorn.

TECH IN SUISSE 2015 will take place at EPFL on 5 September. Registration deadline is 14 August. More information in the Creapark newsletter.
