Advanced support to accelerate Swiss innovations

The annual Game Developers Conference is a highlight for the game industry. Several Swiss startups attended the event this year, with some participating in the GDC pitching competition, a program that gives selected GDC Play exhibitors the chance to pitch their games to an opinionated panel of investors and publishers in front of a live audience. The Swiss indie game studios Twisted BrainZ with Turtles and Stray Fawn Studio with the Wandering Village won the Best in Play Award. Founded in 2019 in Geneva, Twisted BrainZ’s Turtles allows players to take control of Bonnie and all the other cute turtles and help as many of them as possible to get to the sea. The Wandering Village is a city-building simulation game on the back of a giant, wandering creature. It challenges players to build a settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with the colossus.

Digit Soil joins  Plug and Play Agtech
Swiss startup Digit Soil is one of the 12 startups selected for the seventh batch of the Agtech Program by Plug and Play North Dakota. The program provides a platform to find and develop new applications in automation, analytics, sustainability, and supply chain. It also facilitates opportunities for pilots, POCs, and new relationships between the selected batch startups and Plug and Play's global ecosystem. Founded in 2021 in Adliswil, Zurich, Digit Soil has developed a new type of soil sensor to provide farmers with the information they need to improve the use efficiency of fertiliser, soil health and CO2 capture.

Cyltronic selected by the genisuisse team
Various founders presented their solutions to the genisuisse Zürich-Ostschweiz selection committee, and only two companies, the Swiss startup Cyltronic AG and CubX-Furniture, impressed the jury and won a spot in the three-year genisuisse coaching program, worth CHF 30,000 to CHF 50,000. Cyltronic AG is developing the world’s first electric ultra-compact linear actuators that offer many benefits, such as enabling up to 95% energy savings and addressing the increasing demands of machine builders dealing with complex motion sequences.

Pyrpose joins CV Labs Accelerator
The new cohort in the CV Labs accelerator will participate in a week-long bootcamp in Zug. They will get training from global experts and several networking opportunities. Swiss startup Pyrpose is one of the participants. Addressing the problem of a lack of engaging climate solutions that ordinary citizens can access, the startup has developed a marketplace where SMEs and citizen investors can interact, transact and ensure large-scale solutions are funded. Use of regenerative finance where the citizen investor can reprogram their digital assets to go directly back into the marketplace and regenerate not only compound returns but also compound impact.
