At Biomed Up CTI Invest gave the opportunity to ten selected start-ups active in Biotech and Medtech to pitch during the afternoon in front of a public of more than 80 participants sharing the same interest for the lifescience sector.

One of the objectives of the BioMed Up Day hosted by A3 Angels and held at the Biotech Campus in Geneva on the 12th of March was to present quality lifescience start-ups to angel investors looking for investment opportunities. At the pitching event in the afternoon seven start-ups presented themselves in regular 6 minute pitches. Three more ventures were invited by CTI Invest director Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier to take the stage with 3 minute elevator pitches, an always challenging exercise for entrepreneurs.

The participants discovered throughout the presentations some very promising projects and experienced entrepreneurs in medtech such as OneDropDiagnostics (mobile medical device for cardiovascular diagnostic based on a drop of blood), Leman Micro Devices (vital sign monitoring via a new generation of sensors for smartphones) or Samantree (imaging technology for early cancer detection).

The audience also had the chance to learn more about biotech start-ups with great potential such as Amal Therapeutics (novel therapeutic cancer vaccine), Sophia Genetics (next generation sequencing for clinic genetic testing), Obexia (breakthrough therapies for cachexia and anorexia), Arisgen (effective delivery modes for molecules), Neurix (innovative in-vitro neural tissues), Nanolive (disruptive living cell visualization technology) or PBB Tech (injection of biodegradable microspheres to render aesthetic procedures non-surgical).

Before closing the Swiss Venture Day at BioMed Up, Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier invited Lutz Peter-Berg from the Swiss Embassy in London to present CTI Market Entry Camp UK opportunities for Western Switzerland startups in the Lifescience sector. You can learn more on our website.
