The Venture Briefing event series is designed to help students with an intent to pursue entrepreneurship take their first steps towards building a successful company.


The event features Carlos Ciller, CEO and Co-founder at RetinAi, Melis Ataol, EPFL VPI, Cecilia Molina, Romandie Regional Manager at Talent Kick, and Calimna Sladic, Program Manager at Venturelab.



Carlos holds a doctoral degree in Medical Imaging in Ophthalmology and Machine Learning, focusing on Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Fundus, and OCT. He possesses over 10 years of professional experience in Research and Development. Additionally, he served as the Ex-president of Innovation Forum Imperial College London.





 

 





After 8 years on a path towards corporate senior management across digital marketing, omnichannel customer experience and service design, Melis pivoted her career in 2022 to follow her entrepreneurial nature. Today, her objective is to help early-stage startups and corporations innovate their value propositions, growth funnels, and customer programs by combining her commercial experience with expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, and business design.






 
 
 
Cecilia is Regional Manager Romandie at Talent Kick, a cross-university program for the most talented students across Switzerland. The program helps students to build interdisciplinary teams and get hands-on experience in the entrepreneurial career path during their studies. With a solid business background, Cecilia has spent the last four years deeply involved in talent development, leadership training, and community building within the Swiss startup ecosystem, contributing to the development of innovative and impactful startups in Switzerland. Having previously worked in international environments across four different countries, Cecilia brings a rich and diverse perspective to her role. Driven by her passion, Cecilia is dedicated to empowering talented Swiss-based students, helping them develop the skills, mindset and relationships to realise their true potential and proactively shape the future.

 

 


Calimna has been working at Venturelab for the past two years, where she actively manages the Innosuisse Startup Trainings, as well as key startup events and workshops in the Romandie. Venturelab facilitates access to strategic investors, extensive business expertise, and a power network, bringing the best Swiss startups to national success since 2004. With a background in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen and robust leadership experience, Calimna finds meaning in accompanying driven entrepreneurs aiming to solve today’s and tomorrow’s challenges and connecting them to the right opportunities. On the more personal side, she is also an experienced singer and strongly believes in the power of emotions and storytelling to share impactful messages.
