In the first half of 2021, the Technology Fund has granted new guarantees to seven startups, bringing its portfolio to 106. Selected startups offer solutions for sectors including energy, real-estate and finance.

The Technology Fund helps Swiss startups and companies in improving their financing conditions. Every year, the organisation issues loan guarantees to banks and other lenders allowing startups to secure desired capital to support in the development of technologies designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote the efficient use of electrical and renewable energy and the conservation of natural resources. The fonds does not invest directly in start-ups but issues loan guarantees to banks and other lenders.

There are currently 106 portfolio companies and guarantees have been granted with a total amount of CHF 181 million. With the resources of the Technology Fund being far from exhausted, the financial instrument is ambitious to continue its activities.

The following startups have joined the portfolio so far this year

“The rejection of the CO2 Act has no impact on its activities, as the Fund is an open-ended federal funding instrument. We are therefore confident that we will be able to grant guarantees for many years to come. All the more so as the activity of the Technology Fund reduces CO2 emissions and promotes job creation, says Martina Looser, deputy head of the management agency of the Swiss Technology Fund”.
