Faitiq app

The launch of the Fairtiq App changed how people purchase train or bus tickets, but that is not the only ICT vertical that has seen innovative changes. Proptech startup eeproperty wants to make buildings smart for property owners to generate revenue, while Smeetz and RoomPriceGenie revolutionise the tourism and hospitality businesses. Innosuisse - the Swiss Innovation Agency has now recognised the startups’ readiness for sustainable growth.

Startups that successfully complete the Innosuisse Core Coaching Program receive the Innosuisse Certificate in recognition of their remarkable progress and maturity achieved during the program. The certificate supports the startups to gain additional traction as they follow their ambitions. In our series we present the startups which obtained the certificate in 2022. The following ICT startups now hold the certificate:

FAIRTIQ – Traveltech
The FAIRTIQ app is becoming a household name among public transport users across Europe. The Pay-As-You-Go mobile ticketing service allows users to check in and out their train or bus trip, thus eliminating the need to buy a ticket from the driver, at a ticket vending machine or the booking office. With over 82 million trips made, Fairtiq is the most successful iPhone- and Android-compatible check-in/check-out solution worldwide. Besides Switzerland, the app is available in 15 German regions. Its French userbase from Occitanie and Nouvelle Aquitaine has reached a count of more than one million journeys, and in Denmark, demand is rising. Behind Fairtiq is a team of more than 100 people.

eeproperty - Proptech
The startup provides digital payment and management solutions for the Real Estate sector to convert building infrastructures into services that offer new revenues for property owners. eeproperty has two distinct devices on the market: Vesta, the first product of the startup launched in 2015, is the first automated payment and management system for collective laundry rooms, while Volta manages access to the charging service and automates payments for its use. With the growing smart cities market and increasing population of city dwellers (anticipated to reach 70%  of the whole population by 2050), solutions like Vesta and Volta will facilitate the sharing, use and management of common spaces in buildings such as laundry rooms and vehicle charging areas.

Smeetz – Tourism
Based in Lausanne Smeetz is a data-driven ticketing and dynamic pricing SaaS that helps cultural and tourism providers such as leisure activity organisers, nightclubs, tourist offices, theatres and festivals to optimize revenue and inventories. They achieve this by integrating augmented marketing and sales software into their website. Last year in November, the startup launched a new point-of-sale solution tailored for visitor attractions to enable operators to sell tickets, merchandise and food and beverages across one platform. Since its foundation, the startup has established itself as a leading unified commerce for attractions and could demonstrate remarkable growth with the expansion of its team and geographical presence. Today Smeetz is active in eight countries ranging from Switzerland, Germany and Austria to France, UK, Canada the USA and New Zealand.

RoomPriceGenie - Hospitality
With its automated revenue management solution, the startup ensures that the prices align with supply and demand to help customers in the hospitality sector boost their revenues and grow their business. The platform can also integrate with a wide range of Property Management Systems, and Channel Managers. Multiple companies worldwide have used the solution and reported positive results. Hotels, Guesthouses, B&Bs and provider of serviced apartments around the globe including in New Zealand, Canada and several European countries rely on the solution.
