Medica Startup Park

With the Startup Park, Medica, one of the largest B2B trade fairs for medical technology, offers young companies a platform to expand their network in the industry. This year, nine of the 50 exhibitors are from Switzerland. They are supported by Innosuisse.

Medica attracts over 4,500 exhibitors from 66 countries and more than 80,000 visitors from all over the world who are gathering to explore the latest innovations from the fields of medical imaging, laboratory technology, diagnostics, health IT, mobile health as well as physiotherapy/orthopaedic technology and medical consumables. The forums, conferences and special shows provide opportunities for presentations and discussions with experts and politicians. This year the trade fair takes place in Düsseldorf from 13 to 16 November.

The Medica Startup Park is a dedicated platform for startups designed to bring them closer to international players and investors in the healthcare industry and give them a platform to showcase their innovations. Furthermore, there will be pitch sessions and a competition for participating startups. The Swiss delegation includes nine Swiss startups supported by Innosuisse to showcase their solutions in the Swiss Pavilion. These are:

Ai Medical – develops intelligent automation solutions for applications in neuroradiology.

BioSpectal – aims to democratize blood pressure management using transdermal optical biosensing in mobile devices.

iCure – is a SaaS back-end engine for Medical Records and Patient Data. Companies, including Novartis and more than 3,000 doctors, use the platform to process the data of 4+ million patients.

Lighthouse Tech – offers an intelligent eyewear frame, the wearable mobility device LTH01, to enable safe mobility for people with vision impairment, blindness, and spatial perceptual disorders.

MIKAJAKI –developed EyeLib, the first fully automated eye health diagnostic platform on the market using AI and its probabilistic engine. The device will radically improve the eye health pre-diagnostic process and deliver a higher standard of care.

MOMM Diagnostics – developed a rapid test for preeclampsia, providing a novel point-of-care technology with superior analytical sensitivity. It simplifies blood testing procedures and assists doctors on-site to save the lives of mothers and babies.

Resmonics (Asthma Guardian) – uses microphones in smart devices to detect and analyze lung symptoms. With artificial intelligence, the solution can detect the first signs of disease deterioration and estimate the risk of contracting a lung infection in rooms at any given time.

Zoundream – developed BabyT, an IoT device that translates baby cries into meaningful insights to help parents understand their needs and enable the early detection of potential neurodevelopmental disorders and pathologies.

ZuriMed – the ETH spinoff specializing in muscular skeletal medicine, offers medical devices used in orthopaedic surgery to enable soft tissue repair in sports medicine.
