Sintratec ceased operations recently due to recent bankruptcy proceedings. The 3D printing OEM, founded in 2014, shipped systems to customers in over 50 countries. Despite recent successes the company was unable to financially sustain the business.

Sintratec was founded in 2014 in Switzerland by a team of engineers from ETH Zürich and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. As a pioneer in 3D printing Sintratec established the field of low-cost powder bed fusion by launching the world’s very first desktop SLS 3D printer in 2014, the Sintratec Kit. Sintratec went on to develop the modular All-Material Platform including the Sintratec S2 and S3 printers, combining various invitations to enable the fast exchange of printing material and a seamless scaling of production output.

Backed by AM Ventures and Extorel, Sintratec grew to a leading 3D printing OEM with more than a thousand professional SLS systems shipped to customers in over 50 countries.

3DChimera and KREOS will continue providing after-sales services to Sintratec’s global network of resellers and direct customers. KREOS, Sintratec’s trusted reseller based in France, will be handling the provision of spare parts and printing materials for customers in the EMEA region. 3DChimera, Sintratec’s U.S. based reseller, will extend its services to both U.S. customers and the rest of the world.

Dominik Solenicki, CEO of Sintratec said: «The decision to shut down the company comes with a very heavy heart and is painful to accept in light of our recent successes. Despite these we were unable to financially sustain the business. The bankruptcy is a reflection of current industry and capital market realities. I am profoundly grateful for all the connections we have made over the years and the incredible people who helped make Sintratec a reality. Your support and collaboration have been the cornerstone of our journey.»

Christian von Burg, CTO of Sintratec added: «After ten years of pushing boundaries I am sad to see Sintratec’s story concluding. It was my personal privilege to build and work with a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals. We are confident our technology will continue to make an impact. While we are saddened to close down Sintratec, our focus has shifted to ensuring our customers receive continued support. We are deeply grateful to Alex and his team at 3DChimera, as well as Alexandre and Denis and their team at KREOS for delivering world-class services over the years and stepping up to carry on the legacy of supporting our fleet.»
