Four startups are still in the run for the Swiss Fintech Award. Pelt 8 and Sustainaccount are contesting for the category prize ‘early-stage’ and NetGuardians and Taurus for the ‘growth stage’.

The Swiss FinTech Awards Night on 13 June 2023 will bring the four remaining startups in the competition on stage to present their solutions to the audience and jury. Top decision-makers and thought leaders of the fintech community will gather to witness the awarding of promising startups, entrepreneurs and innovators. The award aims to recognise startups and personalities contributing to the strong Swiss fintech ecosystem.

The startups will be awarded in two categories:

Early-stage category – for Swiss fintech startups without a product-market fit but are currently working on a first demo or prototype or are about to go to market with the first product or service. The two finalists in this category are:

Pelt8 – offers a cloud platform to help businesses manage all sustainability-reporting needs in an efficient and auditable way. As part of its go-to-market strategy, Pelt8 organised a Swiss Climate Reporting Forum bringing together more than 200 people and published the whitepaper, “Climate Reporting Blueprint”, co-authored with over 15 organisations to provide actionable insights to companies dealing with current regulations.

Sustainaccount – combines millions of data points from climate research, weather patterns and econometric models with future scenarios and simulations to empower real estate project developers, investors and corporates with actionable climate risk information to foster buildings’ resilience.

Growth stage category
This track targets Swiss Fintech startups with a product-market fit and demonstrated growth trajectory. Candidates in this category have a successful product on the market, a working business model and clear signs of (exponential) growth. The finalists are:

NetGuardians – helps financial institutions worldwide, including some of the leading banks in Asia, Africa and Europe, to prevent fraud using its AI risk platform. The startup today works with more than 80 banks and wealth managers in 30 countries. 40 per cent of all Swiss state-owned commercial banks and three of the top 10 private banks, as ranked by Euromoney, rely on NetGuardians’ 3D artificial intelligence (3D AI) solution to prevent fraudulent payments in real-time.

Taurus – built a proprietary digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions to manage any digital assets. The company works with over 25 financial institutions and corporate clients in eight countries and three continents.

Award Night hosts NASA Executive
Besides the award ceremony, the invitation-only Swiss Fintech Night will host a fireside chat with guest of honor Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen, the former Chief Scientist at NASA, born and raised in the Bernese Oberland. Under his leadership, NASA landed on Mars twice and launched the famous James Webb Telescope.
