The FIF is the instrument for fostering innovation and scale up of promising companies from the Canton of Geneva at the service of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The FIF is supported by the State of Geneva, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce (CCIG), the United Nations International Trade Center (ITC) and United Nations Environment agency. Last week, five beneficiaries received the Fongit Innovation Fund. Learn more about these promising startups below:
Awarded grant of CHF 50,000
In-Teeth Technology is transforming the experience of patients suffering from malocclusion in a way that is more user-friendly and discreet. Their patented technology consists of a non-invasive lingual aligner that moves the teeth using gentle and controlled forces, increasing treatment speed and reliability.
Planeto is a spin-off of the University of Geneva that aims to accelerate energy transition by digitalizing the design process of heating and cooling systems. Their flagship product is TESSA a web-based energy planning software to make district heating and cooling (DHC) network planning faster, efficient, accurate, and cost effective. The company is supported by Geneus, a Fongit and EPFL Innovation Park programme.
RefFIT delivers disruptive software for the material industry to efficiently analyze spectroscopy data. Their software aims to solve the shortages in semiconductors and other raw materials that disrupt supply chains. The company was selected for the 2022 startup competition by Venture.ch for the ICT category.
Awarded seed loan of CHF 100,000
Multiwave Technologies SA, is developing disruptive medical imaging technologies as a deep tech company. The company’s current flagship product is their ultra-portable MRI device that aims to evolve how diagnostics are administered. Multiwave Technologies has been awarded the European Commission Innovation Radar Prize and has been previously funded by the European Commission.
Beekee Sarl is a company originating from the University of Geneva. It is developing preloaded educational content and interactive learning applications, beamed directly onto students' smartphones to bypass internet shortage. Their aim is to reach a higher number of learners while maintaining a high rate of engagement. Beekee has been awarded the Best Innovation Award by Geneva Health Forum and the Scientific Innovation Award by Médecins Sans Frontières.
