Seedstars Summit Startup Garden

At the Seedstars Summit more than 1200 people from over 75 countries will come together in Lausanne on 5 April. For Swiss start-ups it is a good opportunity to meet entrepreneurs and experts from emerging markets, to contact investors and corporate partners – and to have fun.

Networking and content are the two pillars of the Seedstars Summit 2019. The selection of the role-models shows the ambition of the organisers. “It means that we want to offer to all attendees, high-quality networking opportunities like the WEF and high-level content sessions, similar to TED”, explains Alisée de Tonnac, CEO and Cofounder of Seedstars World.

On the content side the summit offers participants the opportunity to learn from well-known entrepreneurs and experts such asFreddy Vega (CEO, Platzi), Fabio Cannavale (CEO, Lastminute.com), Ines Hamida Mestiri (Co-founder & COO, Seabex), Tania Douglas (Professor, University of Cape Town), Maanasa Mendu (16-year old inventor of Harvest) and many more.

Industry-focused workshops
Moreover, this year there will be five industry-focused workshops - in AgriTech, HealthTech, EduTech, FinTech, and CleanTech. The experts from different countries and backgrounds will come together and share their expertise on how to bring quality in education in rural areas, make recycling an everyday habit of the corporate world, and how to leverage patient's data with the help of technology, etc.

On the networking side the summit will “to put the entrepreneur at the center of the stage and make sure impact, innovation, and investment meet during the event”, says Alisée de Tonnac. Swiss entrepreneurs can meet and learn from start-up peers operating across the world. The Seedstars team has travelled throughout Asia, Africa, CEE, Latam and MENA hosting pitching events in 75+ countries to find the most promising early-stage companies. More than 65 local winners will join the summit and compete in order to be awarded the Seedstars Global Winner Prize of up to $500k in equity investment plus additional prizes.

The summit is also a great opportunity to feel the entrepreneurial spirit from the participants from all over the world. Alisée de Tonnac lists four reasons for Swiss start-ups to attend the event: networking with investors and corporate partners, learning from start-up peers, accessing insights – and: having fun.
