Startup studio WeBuild Ventures is launching its first Contest. Swiss entrepreneurs are invited to showcase their innovative ideas. The winner will receive up to CHF 1 million to bring it to life with the support of WeBuild, joining five other startup projects in the process. Applications are open until May 31st.

Powered by Polytech Ventures and Fusion Partners, Swiss venture studio WeBuild Ventures is offering entrepreneurs a unique chance to become the founder of an ambitious startup, with a higher chance of success thanks to its support. To achieve this, the Startup Studio led by Nicolas Lagreze is launching its first WeBuild Entrepreneur Contest competition as it kicks off a new batch of candidate selection for entry into the WeBuild program. The competition will provide an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative ideas and earn a spot in the acceleration program, where they will receive valuable resources, mentorship, and support to help bring their ideas to life.

A novel vision of support

As part of a novel "Venture Capital meets startup accelerator" approach, WeBuild offers funding ranging from CHF 500'000 to 1'000'000 for the winner, depending on its specific needs. Contacted by Startupticker.ch, Estelle Assens, Partner at Fusion Partners explains that the funding will be a combination of cash and in-kind, tailored to provide the necessary resources to support the growth and development of the company. The founder participates in the studio program. As a winning participant, the entrepreneur will receive a salary while working on the development of his or her project. In return, WeBuild will take an equity stake in the future startup.

WeBuild Ventures is excited by this first edition of the contest and is willing to renew the experience. The startup studio believes that this is a great way to identify the new generation of entrepreneurs, and to give them the resources to develop their startup through WeBuild operational and financial support. The studio aims is to promote entrepreneurship in Switzerland and bring out national and even international champions.

Five projects in the program already

  • Cyberion: Cyber-insurance for Swiss SMEs
  • Sherlock: Real Estate renting solution for tenant, future tenant and landlord
  • Earny: Payroll management for Swiss SMEs & startups
  • Perty: Digital property manager for asset managers and tenants
