The current cohort of the Y Combinator receives more money than precious participants: $500,000 instead of $250,000. Swiss startup Typewise is among the newly selected startups for the summer edition and the only Swiss company in the programme.

Based in Schlieren with 16 employees in Switzerland and across Europe, Typewise developed an artificial intelligence-powered smartphone keyboard for consumers. The app has recorded over two million downloads and is available in 40 languages. The company launched an AI enterprise solution for the B2B sector early this year to support customer service and sales teams. Companies in e-commerce, logistics, insurance, travel, etc., use the tool to communicate with customers faster and more effectively.

Last week, David Eberle, co-founder and CEO of Typewise, travelled to San Francisco for the Kickoff event of the Y Combinator Summer 2022 program. His startup Typewise is one of the selected companies for the three-month program – with an acceptance rate of 1-2%; David is pleased to join the program and sees his participation as an opportunity to meet and work with founders of unicorn companies.

Until August, the Summer 22 cohort of the YC accelerator program will collaborate with the YC team to refine their business and pitching skills, work with advisors in one-on-one and group office hours, meet and exchange with peers, and network with the YC community. The startups will receive $500,000 as part of the new YC model of funding early-stage companies.

The programme culminates in a Demo Day for startups to present their companies to a select audience. “Demo Day is a big milestone, but it’s more about adopting the “Silicon Valley Spirit, meeting great personalities and becoming part of the lifelong ‘YC family’,” says David.
