Tune Insight B2B software enables organizations to make better decisions by collaborating securely on their sensitive data to extract collective insights. Incubated at the EPFL Laboratory for Data Security, with a deployment in Swiss university hospitals and customer-funded projects in the insurance and cybersecurity businesses, Tune Insight will use the funds to accelerate product development, strengthen the team, and onboard more customers.

Today’s organizations are heavily data-centric when required to make sound decisions. According to data from Forrester, more than 56% of the companies in the enterprise data and analytics market acknowledge that their own data is not enough, and they plan on expanding their ability to source external data. Nevertheless, their expansion and collaboration with others is prevented on sensitive or confidential data due to risk of data leaks or because of data-privacy concerns and regulations.

Tune Insight B2B software provides infrastructure-agnostic solutions to enable secure collaborative analytics and machine learning in federated scenarios between several organizations, enabling them to extract collective insights from confidential data from the whole network of participating organizations, while they remain in full control of their own data. Tune Insight software can be deployed on-premise or in cloud instances, and it avoids any data transfer while keeping all communications and computations encrypted.

Just a few weeks after incorporation, Tune Insight closed a pre-seed financing round with Wingman Ventures. “We are very excited to partner with Wingman Ventures for this pre-seed round, and we are looking forward to accelerate towards capturing the opportunities arising in multiple domains, where so many companies are realizing that their own data is not enough to make optimal informed decisions for their business” mentions Tune Insight CEO and co-founder Juan Ramon Troncoso Pastoriza, who has 15+ of experience in privacy enhancing technologies and homomorphic encryption. He adds that Tune Insight is uniquely positioned in the competitive landscape, as its platform “is fully decentralized, widely scalable, fully software-based, more secure than federated learning, it does not rely on trusted 3rd party hardware, and it comes from a strong background with arguably the most critical type of sensitive data, health data”.

Frederic Pont, who is joining Tune Insight as co-founder and COO, bringing 20+ years of experience at the cross-road of business and technology, including Silicon Valley startup experience and 8+ years in Cisco’s corporate development team mentions that “Tune Insight enables multiple organizations to collaborate, securely, on their most critical data, without sharing their precious data with others nor with Tune Insight, to make better decisions”. Tune Insight co-founder team also includes Romain Bouyé, former CTO of a London-based consumer startup and Prof. Jean-Pierre Hubaux, head of the Laboratory for Data Security and academic director of EPFL Center for Digital Trust.

Pascal Mathis, Founder Partner at Wingman Ventures, who is joining the company’s board of directors adds: “It is amazing to see the determination of the Tune Insight team. Years of research have led to this groundbreaking technology and finally the time is right to apply it in real business cases. I am convinced that many enterprises will love the possibility to complement their own datasets with additional data from external entities in a fully trustworthy environment.”
