Swissnex and Innosuisse have selected six early-stage startups from the fields of life sciences, deep-tech, sports-tech and animal-tech to participate in a two-week startup boot camp San Francisco. The cohort will benefit from the extensive program designed to provide them with exposure in the US market.

The swissnex startup Bootcamp, which is scheduled to take place from January 13–24 2020, is designed to provide startups with a platform to learn from their peers while leveraging swissnex San Francisco connections to benefit the next stage of their startup journey. The program consists of toolbox sessions with leading local experts, fireside chats with Silicon Valley startup founders and expert coaches and access to special networking events. The startups will also have the chance to pitch at a demo night to a local audience from the Silicon Valley ecosystem consisting of VCs, founders, and leading experts.

The selected startups for the boot camp are:

Archinisis (Benedikt Fasel, CEO and Founder) – transforms athletes’ raw motion data into precise key performance indicators which can be immediately analysed through an easy-to-use tool.

CogniPet (Vincenzo Vento, CEO) – is the first marketplace app to offer healthy pets from renowned breeders with a traceable supply chain, countering the immense growth of the illegal dog smuggling business in the USA. By using blockchain technology, CogniPet meets the legal requirements of California AB 485 and supports a billion-dollar market with the necessary transparency.

ShemaTic (Cédric Flüeli, CEO) – invented a simple and efficient way to build electric motors regardless the size or the number of motors they manufacture. The startup’s electric motors deliver three times more power than an electric motor with the same size.

Swiss Vault (Bhupinder Bhullar, CEO & Co-founder; Doug Fortune, CTO & Co-Founder) –  builds data storage hardware and software that operates with a tenth of the power consumption, a quarter of the volume, and a fifth of the weight of conventional, comparable systems. The innovative form-factor is 10X the power and 20X more space efficient.

TYXIT (Gaétan Fuchs, Co-founder & CEO) – is committed to making live audio monitoring and recording a smooth and painless experience. The startup developed an exclusive line of revolutionary wireless live music products that are easier, faster, and cheaper than traditional wired setups.

Xsensio (Esmeralda Megally, CEO & Co-Founder) – develops the unique Lab-on-Skin™ sensing platform to sense biochemical information at the surface of the skin in real-time, providing unprecedented access to information about health and wellness in a simple and non-invasive way.

Five of the startups are currently conducting their US Market Validation with Swissnex SF and one company (TYXIT) is doing a Market Entry Camp. They will be using CES and the NAMM show as a platform to launch their product after they had validated the Market remotely before coming to the US.

A correspondent from swissnex remarks, “while some companies already have an existing business in Switzerland or Europe, some companies are potentially ‘made’ for another market. This is, for example, the case for the company TYXIT (Life Music is biggest in the US) as well as for Cognipet (California is THE market for high end pet products and services)."
